Crestwood Panthers Announce 2019 RosterCrestwood, Ill. – May 2, 2019 – The Crestwood Panthers have begun the process of disclosing their roster for the 2019 season by announcing 21 players on Thursday. The club will continue to announce additions to the roster in the weeks leading up to the season. Nick Anderson, C, Kankakee CC / Highland, Ind. / Highland HS Anderson serves as the starting catcher for the Kankakee College Cavaliers, who sit at 31-14-2, providing a formidable offensive presence in the heart of the lineup. He’s currently slashing an impressive .367/.459/.517 to go along with 34 RBIs and 76 total bases. Anderson looks to provide the Panthers with considerable depth behind the plate and at the designated hitter position. Adam Budorick, OF, College of Lake County / Glenbrook, Ill. / Glenbrook South HS A CF/LF from Glenbrook, Ill., Budorick brings pure speed, as evidenced by his 7.08 60-yard dash time and lockdown defense to the Panthers’ roster. He has registered two stolen bases to complement a .250 batting average with the College of Lake County Lancers. Last summer, he played for the Illinois Indians Baseball Organization. Brock Budzielek, RHP, Calumet College / Hobart, Ind. / Hobart HS Budzielek has played his past two summer seasons with the Joliet Generals of the Midwest Collegiate League (MCL). This season, he remains a part of the MCL, joining the Panthers for the 2019 season. In one appearance with the Calumet College Crimson Wave, he has not allowed an earned run. Budzielek also provides depth defensively with the ability to play middle infield and outfield. John Butts, 3B/2B, Ripon College / Chicago, Ill. / Kenwood Academy Butts will continue his career at Ripon College following his senior season at Kenwood Academy. He is a 5-9, 180-pound third baseman with the capability of playing both second base and first base. Butts was a member of the Lou Collier A’s baseball program. Austin De La Cruz, OF, Beloit College / Kailua Kona, Hawaii / Mililani HS After playing baseball for four years at Hawaii’s largest public high school, De La Cruz will join the Panthers for the 2019 season. In his first collegiate season with Beloit, he has received significant playing time, recording a .250 batting average and 10 RBIs at the plate. De La Cruz has the ability to play all three outfield positions. Nick Doman, C, Butler University / Chicago, Ill. / Marist HS Doman is ready to provide the Panthers with considerable catching depth in 2019. He has a measured pop time of 2.03-2.09, along with a 74 mile-per-hour positional velocity. He hit .280 in his senior year with Marist, serving as the starting catcher for the RedHawks. Doman also played football in high school, helping Marist finish as a top 10 team in Illinois with an 11-1 record. Tim Fauth, 1B/DH, Harper College / Hoffman Estates, Ill. / Conant HS After playing baseball and football at Conant High School in north suburban Hoffman Estates, Fauth looks to build upon his current collegiate success this summer. As the Harper College Hawks starting first baseman, Fauth is hitting .252 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in 38 games. D’Vante Glenn, 2B, Coe College / Chicago, Ill. / St. Rita HS Glenn is a part of a Coe College team that currently sits at 30-3. He mans the second base position, but can also play the outfield. Glenn’s 60-yard dash time of 6.87 makes him a threat to steal at all times. Jacob Hunt, OF, Calumet College / Whiting, Ind. / Hammond Clark HS Hunt is currently a junior at Calumet College, primarily playing left field and right field. He is a career .200 hitter with the Crimson Wave. Hunt looks to bring much-needed outfield depth to this Panthers team. Michael Jahnke, 1B/DH, Coe College / Lansing, Ill. / TF South HS Jahnke is returning for his second season with the organization. He can play both first base and third base, and is also a part of a highly-successful Coe College team that sits at 30-3. Michael Kokoszka, P, South Mountain CC / Westmont, Ill. / Westmont HS After playing for Team DeMarini Elite last summer, Kokoszka looks to add some noteworthy pitching depth for the Panthers in 2019. He was named a 2018 Preseason All-American by Perfect Game, and tops out at 84 miles-per-hour on the mound. Connor McCloskey, P, Beloit College / Chicago, Ill. / Lane Tech College Prep McCloskey serves as a key starting pitcher for the Beloit College Buccaneers. He has made five starts on the season, recording 25 1/3 innings pitched, which ranks third on the team, and a 6.39 ERA. Originally from Chicago, McCloskey played varsity baseball at Lane Tech College Prep in 2015 and 2016. Malek Mostafa, RHP, Elmhurst College / Westmont, Ill. / Westmont HS Following a remarkable three-sport tenure at Westmont (baseball, basketball, soccer), Mostafa is ready to build upon his promising baseball career in Crestwood this summer. He boasts a four-pitch repertoire, which includes a fastball, slider, curveball and changeup. At the moment, he is continuing his collegiate baseball career with the Elmhurst College Blue Jays. Lawrence Noble, OF/1B, Coppin State / Chicago, Ill. / Brooks College Prep Noble will be pursuing the advancement of his baseball career at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md. He possesses speed, as evidenced by his 6.97 60-yard dash time, and power, indicated by an 88 mile-per-hour exit velocity. He was a member of the Chicago White Sox ACE program. Colton Rydlewski, OF, Albion College / Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central HS Rydlewski is slated to return for his second season with the Panthers. In his second year at Albion College, Rydlewski has appeared in two games, and has helped the Britons attain a 19-16 record. Brandon Simon, OF, University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff / Chicago, Ill. / Brooks College Prep Simon is set to return for his second season with the Panthers. With Arkansas Pine Bluff this season, Simon has maintained a .977 fielding percentage in the outfield. In high school with Brooks College Prep, he was named a 2018 All-Conference player after hitting .448 on the season. Simon was also a varsity captain for three seasons while with the Eagles. Ethan Soderna, RHP, Ohio Wesleyan University / Chicago, IL / Jones College Prep Soderna currently serves as a key relief pitcher for the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops. He leads the team in appearances with 15, recording 30 strikeouts in 33.1 innings pitched. His ERA ranks third on the team at 5.67. At Jones College Prep, Soderna lettered four times in baseball and twice in soccer. He also helped the Eagles win a regional championship. Blake Soria, C, Prairie State College / Chicago, Ill. / St. Rita HS Soria is expected to return for his second season with the Panthers. In his second year at Prairie State College, he has posted a superb slash line of .296/.424/.481 along with nine RBIs across 19 games. Soria serves as the Pioneers’ starting catcher. Colin Spranger, 3B, Ohio Wesleyan University / Gurnee, Ill. / Warren Township HS Described by multiple scouts as possessing proficient gap-to-gap power, Spranger looks to add an impactful offensive presence with the Panthers here in 2019. He has received substantial playing time with Ohio Wesleyan as a freshman. Spranger is hitting .216 across 51 at-bats with the Battling Bishops. Tom Stoodt, MIF, Butler University / Chicago, Ill. / St. Ignatius College Prep After serving as the team captain of a 2018 St. Ignatius Baseball team that finished second in the Class 3A IHSA State Championships, Stoodt is pursuing a next-level opportunity with Butler University. With a 6.75 60-yard dash time, and a 90 mile-per-hour exit velocity, Stoodt retains considerable speed and power. He looks to make his presence known across the middle infield with Crestwood this summer. Jack Watkins, RHP, Triton CC / South Elgin, Ill. / South Elgin HS Watkins will continue his baseball career at Triton Community College following his senior season at South Elgin High School. On the season thus far, Watkins has appeared in two games and earned one victory. |
