Two brothers playing for different teams are fun to watchColin and Andrew Early, from Crown Point, are two fun ballplayers to watch. Colin, a catcher for the Panthers, and Andrew, a pitcher for the Vikings, had their first matchup of the season on Friday night at Highland High School. The two had some friendly trash talk to give to each other as Andrew batted with his brother behind the plate. Even though Andrew went 0-3 at the plate, he still had fun laughing with his brother in the box. Even more fun to watch, Colin took three ABs against his brother, going 1-3 with a single to center. Both could consider this a win since Colin took a hit and Andrew only kept him to one. Asking the duo what the energy was like playing a sibling in a competitive league, Colin said, "Its like playing wiffleball in the front yard. We did it all our lives." Andrew followed up with, "Since we were eight and seven out in the front yard going back and fourth. That's all it felt like." This is certainly not the only time we will see these two go head-to-head, and it is extremely fun watching them get that childish excitement back while they chirp each other. Keep an eye on the Early brothers because it is a blast to watch them play. |
