Panthers Shut out by Giants

06/11/2022 3:23 PM -

The Crestwood Panthers ended a solid week on a down note by losing to the Chicago American Giants on Saturday afternoon at the KROC Center.

The Panthers offense could only muster six hits during the 4-0 loss. The six hits were spread out across the six following Panthers: Jimmy Gurgone, Peter Fusek. Connor Janik, Hobbs Dunne, Jacob White, Jaylun Cooper. They were stymied by Giants starter AJ White who threw six shutout innings.

However, Panthers’ impromptu starter Jackson Lisle made the most of his opportunity pitching seven innings giving up only two runs. Head coach D’vante Glenn was happy with the performance Lisle gave him on the mound.

“He was great.” Glenn said, “He was hitting the spots he needed to and making the adjustments when he needed to.”   T

he Panthers stretch of eight games in eight days was a successful one overall as they finished with a record of 5-3 on the stretch. However, the off day is much needed.

“This off day is coming at a great time,” Glenn said.

The Panthers play the American Giants again on Monday at 5 p.m. at Marian Catholic High School. For the full box score, visit the Northern League Pointstreak page: http://baseball.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=577373
