Hilbrich Named MCL Player of the WeekCrestwood, Ill. – July 27, 2020 – Following the winningest week in Crestwood Panthers' history, starting outfielder Ray Hilbrich (Purdue Northwest / Schererville, Ind.) has been named the MCL Player of the Week. In four games, from July 21st through July 26th, Hilbrich hit an impressive .533 (8-for-15), while adding one home run, seven runs batted in, and three runs scored. His performance, especially at the plate, served as the driving force behind Crestwood's franchise-record six-game winning streak. On the season, Hilbrich currently sits at 10 doubles, 12 RBIs, 12 runs scored, and a slash line of .379/.479/.603. He is also the owner of seven multi-hit performances, which paces the Panthers by a wide margin. The award, and his current in-season production, comes after a year in which he hit .426 with 20 RBIs to earn All-MCL honors. Hilbrich will look to lead the Panthers to their 10th win of the season on Monday afternoon, as they oppose the MCL Minutemen from Andrean High School. Coverage begins at 5 p.m. on the Panthers' Broadcast Network, available via Facebook Live. 2020 Player of the Week Award Winners July 13 – Justin Rios, Southland July 20 – Patrick Doran, Minutemen July 27 – Ray Hilbrich, Crestwood 2020 Pitcher of the Week Award Winners July 13 – Jake Karaba, Southland July 20 – Jack Guzek, NWI July 27 – Kyle Iwinski, NWI |
