On Thursday, the Indiana Panthers took a hard loss in Oil City to the Oilmen. After seven innings, NWI run ruled the Panthers by a score of 12-2.

The two runs for Indiana were scored in the third inning, starting with a leadoff walk from Jake Graniczny who in the next at bat advanced on a balk. Dillon Romano hit a single to left field to score Graniczny and was brought home in the next at bat from a Gino Gazzillo knock.

The Oilmen scored a run in every inning of the game, including a three-run rally in the second.

The head coach of the Panthers, Sean Pierce, said the team failed on both sides of the ball in this game. Particularly in the hitting aspect, he said the team failed to adjust to fast pitches. "We took a lot of pitches, struck out a lot, and we only had four hits so we didn't do much hitting today.

The boys in blue head back to Whiting on Friday to face a red hot Oilmen team. With Luke Fassoth on the mound the team may be able to pull off a win with some help on offense. Coach Pierce looks forward to seeing Fassoth on the bump. "He battles every time. He's been great for us recently so we just got to back him up."
